What is MD5?

The MD5 message-digest algorithm is a widely used hash function producing a 128-bit hash value. MD5 is widely used to store password or to check data integrity. Although MD5 was initially designed to be used as a cryptographic hash function, it has been found to suffer from extensive vulnerabilities. The security of the MD5 hash function is severely compromised. A collision attack exists that can find collisions within seconds on a computer with a 2.6 GHz Pentium 4 processor (complexity of 224.1). MD5 continues to be widely used, in spite of its well-documented weaknesses and deprecation by security experts.

The database we use currently has over 15 billion hash.
